Chamber Concert on February 27, 2010 at Palm Desert, CA

   will feature an exceptional 

  young violinist Zlata Grekov.

Zlata is a winner of numerous competitions, such as SYMF, Bach Festival, Music Teachers Association Scholarship, Search for Talent, Young Stars, Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra (CYMO) Concerto Competition, the Redlands Bowl Young Artist’s Competition, and the SAU Concerto Competition.

Zlata will perform Beethoven's Sonata No. 5 for violin and piano together with CMFoNE pianist and music director Tanya Kodinsky. Click here for a concert flyer.

Another highlight of the program will be the performance of Igor Frolov's Fantasia on themes from Gershwin's Opera "Porgy and Bess". The concert will be at Palm Desert Oasis SEventh Day Adventist Church at 74200 Country Club Drive, Palm Desert, Ca at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010.

They performed Maurice Ravel's Chansons medecasses for voice, flute, cello and piano and Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 for soprano and 8 cellos. Also performed in this concert was Maurice Ravel's Introduction & Allegro for Harp, Strings, Flute and Clarinet and Zoltán Kodály String Quartet No. 1 op.2.

May 9 at 6:30 p.m. CONCERT AT THE FIRST CHURCH BOSTON

will feature works of the renowned Boston composer and organist Jakov Jakoulov.


Boston Symphony violist, Michael Zaretsky,

with pianist Yelena Prizant, in performance of Jakoulov's critically acclaimed sonata for viola and piano No.1 (1995), The Berkshires Mass (2006) for Soprano, Viola, Celtic Harp and Pipe Organ, with Miranda Loud (soprano), Michael Zaretsky (Viola), Jakov Jakoulov (organ), and a world premier of Sentinent Webs (Three Pictures by Stephanie Morin) (2007) for Amplified Cello and Pipe Organ featuring Tchaikovsky Competition Gold Medal Winner cellist Sergey Antonov, with the composer, Jakov Jakoulov, on organ.

Another highlight of the evening will be Beethoven's Piano Trio No. 2 in G major performed by CMFoNE musicians Ellina Blinder (piano), Lilia Muchnik (violin) & Suzanne Polk (cello).

They performed Richard Strauss' piano quartet in C minor Op. 13 with a talented young cellist, Ying Jun Wei and CMFoNE pianist Tanya Kodinsky. Also featured in the concert was another talented young cellist Mikhail Veselov. He will perform Schubert's piano trio No. 1 in B flat major with Lilia Muchnik, violin and Ellina Blinder, piano.

2010 INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER MUSIC ENSEMBLE COMPETITION

invites student, amateur and professional chamber music ensembles of all ages to compete in eight chamber music categories, namely:

* Sonata Duo

* Piano Duo (1 piano, 4 hands)

* Piano Ensembles (Piano Trio

* Piano Quartet, Piano Quintet)

* Ensembles with Winds

* String Ensembles

* Jazz & Folk Ensembles

* Vocal Chamber Groups

* Percussion Chamber Ensembles

Chamber ensembles will compete in three age groups, as shown below:

* Group I (age 17and under)

* Group II (age 18 to 25)

* Group III (age 26 and older)

Each ensemble's age group is determined by the age of its oldest member on March 15, 2010.

       The International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition (ICMEC) has been created to provide young and mature chamber music ensembles from around the world with an opportunity to compete with each other in their respective age groups and music categories and to perform in the world best music halls. Arabesque winds

2008 ICMEC GRAND PRIZE WINNER

After a long and thorough deliberation the 2008 Grand Prize Jury Panel declared Arabesque Winds the 2008 ICMEC Grand Prize Winner. Arabesque Winds consisting of Deidre Huckabay, flute, Liz Spector, oboe, Isabel Kim, clarinet, Eryn Bauer, bassoon and Sophie Goluses, horn gave an astounding performance in the final round of the 2008 International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall performing Sechs Bagatelle by György Ligeti.
